How To Use Affirmations To Boost Your Business

Before we get started, let’s go over what an affirmation is…

Affirmations are positive statements you say, write, think or listen to retrain your thoughts and make the statements come true. Think law of attraction - your thoughts become your reality. By using affirmations, we attract the statements to us and find a way to make them come true and speak them into existence rather than focusing on all of the ways something can go wrong, what we aren’t doing right or what we don’t have and attracting more of the negativity into your life and your business.

Things like this it helps to have an example…

My best example of how this plays out is have you ever taken a yoga class? And usually you get to a point in tree pose or a similar one where you are on one foot and about to topple over. I used to think “I am totally about to fall oh crap here I go timber” and 5 seconds later I’m catching myself half on the floor. The past couple of years I think “I am grounded, I am steady, I am stable” and I don’t fall over. Try that next time you’re in tree pose!

When it comes to your business…

If there is something very specific you have you are thinking negatively about, you want to give yourself positive things that counteract those thoughts. For example, say you have a talk coming up that you are really nervous about because you don’t like talking in front of people and feel like you tend to ramble. You can create an affirmation such as “I articulate myself clearly and carry myself with ease and confidence in front of a crowd. My words are important and positively impact everyone who hears me.” Then repeat this to yourself throughout the day, days leading up to the talk, and before your talk to bring this reality to life.

You can also do this for non-super-specific things. Say you want to attract clients who are more in line with your target audience because the customers who keep contacting you just don’t fit the bill. Assuming you know who your target audience is, an affirmation such as “My ideal clients find me easily and are drawn to me. They are so aligned with my business that there is no question about moving forward!”

Here’s the thing. Affirmations should really be used as supplemental to something bigger. If you use them in addition to a program, coaching, healing, etc. aka some type of larger modality, they can be powerful. I don’t however recommend only using affirmations since you aren’t likely to see huge change because they really are meant to support something greater.

Now when it comes to creating an affirmation, make it on whatever feels right for you. Just remember, once we clear out the shadow and energy holding us back, it leaves space for our thoughts and words to become our reality, we can use this to our advantage especially in our business to attract abundance, clear communication, creativity, organization, ideal clients, and more!

If you are just getting started with affirmations, a good place is my Affirmations Mediation specifically for entrepreneurs. I created this to help you feel more gratitude, grounded, aligned in your business and attract abundance. You can get it below to listen to (and no you don’t have to meditate to listen to it).
